Discussions are taking place between Chelsea and the former manager of Bayern Munich

As part of Chelsea's hunt for a new manager, the club has reportedly had conversations with Julian Nagelsmann.

After less than two years in charge, the German was relieved of his duties as manager of the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in March.

According to BBC Sport's understanding, Chelsea does not yet have a candidate in mind to take the place of Graham Potter, who was fired in April.

The search for a new manager is still underway despite the fact that discussions have taken place with Nagelsmann, 35 years old; Luis Enrique is also apparently of interest to Chelsea.

After replacing Thomas Tuchel at Brighton & Hove Albion, Potter resigned from his position as manager at Stamford Bridge less than seven months later.

Tottenham Hotspur has also been mentioned in connection with Nagelsmann, who is one of the most highly regarded young coaches in the game.

While he was in charge of RB Leipzig, he collaborated on projects with the sports director of Chelsea, Laurence Stewart, and the technical director of Chelsea, Christopher Vivell.

After taking over as head coach of Hoffenheim at the young age of 28 and then moving on to RB Leipzig, which he guided to the semifinals of the Champions League, Jurgen Nagelsmann is widely regarded as one of the most promising managerial prospects in the sport.

After that, in 2021, he signed with Bayern Munich, who were defending champions of the Bundesliga. In his first season with the team, he won two German Supercups in addition to the league championship.

Anthony Barry, the head coach of Chelsea's first team, has been the subject of interest from Bayern Munich, who hired Tuchel after dismissing Nagelsmann. Discussions between the two clubs are still ongoing.
